Donetsk, Apr 1 – DAN. Ukrainian forces, in violation of the additional ceasefire control measures, have begun to organise new positions next to the Kiev-controlled Nevelskoye settlement west of Donetsk, Donetsk People’s Republic militia deputy commander Eduard Basurin said on Thursday.

“58th Brigade 16th Battalion gunmen carried out engineer works to complete the organisation of new positions in the Nevelskoye settlement area, in violation of Item 1 of the additional measures to strengthen the ceasefire,” Basurin said. “We urge Ukraine’s Office at the JCCC to look into the fact and the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine to monitor the above area to record the violations by Ukrainian forces.”

The package of tighter ceasefire control measures came into force in Donbass on July 27, 2020. The document bans the use of all weapons, deployment of hardware, special operations, engineer works and unmanned aerial vehicles flights.

Nevelskoye is located some eight kilometres northwest of Donetsk. DPR militia intelligence has mentioned Nevelskoye in connection with the planting of mines by Ukrainian servicemen, violation of troops withdrawal accords, etc. *jk
