Donetsk, Aug 8 – DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic militiamen have shot down six Ukrainian unmanned combat aerial vehicles since the new Donbass ceasefire came into force on July 21, the DPR People’s Militia told the Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.
“Since the beginning of the new ceasefire in Donbass, the DPR militia has downed six drones of Ukrainian armed formations over the Republic. All of them were combat UAVs,” a People’s Militia representative said.
One of the most outrages Ukrainian drone attacks after the truce came into effect was carried out in the Oktyabr village area in southern DPR on August 1. The drone dropped VOG-17 grenades onto DPR People’s Militia positions wounding three militiamen. It was shot down by DPR militia air defence units.
Employing combat aviation and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) in the 30km-wide zone along the line of contact is banned under Article 7 of Minsk Memorandum dated September 19, 2014, with the exception to OSCE SMM UAVs.*jk*pp
