Donetsk, Feb 16 – DAN. Ukraine is planning a bloody provocation in vicinity of Donetsk involving foreign and Ukrainian journalists in order to fabricate evidence and accuse DPR of shelling, DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin said on Thursday.

“We have information that a group of Finnish journalists arrived at Respublika 71 strongpoint of 79th air assault brigade in Peski district. According to Ukrainian military and secret service’s plan communicated from the headquarters based in Netailovo village area, a camera crew would be caught in the shelling arranged by Ukrainian military causing casualties among foreign reporters,” Basurin said.
A Ukrainian television camera crew would be on standby in proximity to the location of Finnish reporters, to record the shelling allegedly coming from DPR territory. Ukraine plans to make political statements following the incident, he added.
DPR Operations Command urged Ukraine not to commit this crime. Foreign journalists are advised to exercise utmost caution and visit contact line areas only in the presence of Ukrainian military commanders.*jk
