Donetsk, Nov 1 – DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic intelligence spotted the movement of heavy Ukrainian armaments on the Mariupol axis at night-time, DPR People’s Militia spokesman Daniil Bezsonov said on Thursday.

“Ukrainian gunmen continue to violate the Minsk Agreements. DPR People’s Militia intelligence revealed the presence of heavy armaments in the responsibility zone of the Ukrainian army’s 79th Brigade,” Bezsonov said.

Seven self-propelled howitzers Akatsiya, 152mm and six towed howitzers D-30, 122mm were seen moving in the settlements of Talakovka, Lebedinskoye and Primorskoye (seven to eight kilometres from the contact line) on the southern stretch of the contact line, he said.

“We again ask the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to carefully monitor the designated areas to compel Ukraine to meet the commitments it has undertaken,” the spokesman said.

The Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements signed by the Contact Group on February 12, 2015 creates a 50-kilometre security zone for 100mm or larger calibre artillery systems, a security zone of 70 km wide for MLRS and 140 km wide for MLRS “Tornado-S”, Uragan, Smerch and Tactical Missile Systems Tochka. The September addendum commits the parties to withdrawing artillery pieces of calibre less than 70mm, tanks and mortars.*jk
