Ukrainian gunmen hit own mines in DPR breakthrough attempt outside Gorlovka – spokesman

Donetsk, Sep 24 – DAN. A group of Ukrainian soldiers hit their own mines suffering casualties as they attempted to advance towards the Dolomitnoye village outside Gorlovka on Sunday evening , Donetsk People’s Republic Operations Command spokesman Daniil Bezsonov said on Monday.

“Yesterday evening, our watch posts recorded the advancement of an armed enemy group numbering eight servicemen towards DPR forces in the Dolomitnoye settlement area, who had hardly walked 200 metres when they hit their own mines,” Bezsonov said.

He said that two Ukrainian servicemen had been killed and another three had been seriously wounded.

The DPR Operations Commanded also noted increased activity of Ukrainian commandoes in “carrying out provocations and destabilising the situation on the contact line.”*jk
