Donetsk, Jan 26 – DAN. A special DPR commission on recording evidence of Ukrainian authorities’ war crimes in Donbass reported that 24 children have become disabled as a result of Ukrainian army shelling since the beginning of Kiev’s offensive on Donbass.

“Twenty-four children have been identified as disabled as a result of Ukrainian army shelling. These include two children under three years of age. Overall, 196 children have been injured in the conflict,” DPR leader administration Children Legal Protection Department head Eleona Fedorenko told Donetsk News Agency.

At the Wednesday meeting, the special commission decided to request DPR head Alexander Zakharchenko to provide assistance to the disabled children.

Zakharchenko ordered to set up a special war crimes commission on May 30, 2016. It uncovers and records crimes against humanity and war crimes committed by Kiev forces in DPR territory. The evidence will be presented at international courts. The commission is also implementing a strategy to inform the international community about Ukrainian authorities’ war crimes and breaches of law. The commission is led by acting DPR Foreign Minister Natalia Nikonorova. *jk
