Donetsk, Mar 2 – DAN. DPR mobile carrier Phoenix is developing 4G network in Donetsk, five base stations have already been launched, the minister of communications Viktor Yatsenko said.

“We have mastered the 4G technology. Currently five base stations operate in Donetsk using LTE band 20 (800 MHz). We suppose customers will be able to register in the network easily,” he said.

Another five stations are to be launched shortly to cover almost the entire city together with the already functioning ones. Beta-testing will be made available for approximately 500 users.

DPR’s first national mobile carrier covers the entire Republic’s territory. It was test-launched on 16 June 2015. Six weeks later, mobile subscriptions became available at 120 rubles ($2) at DPR post offices. Phoenix began to operate at full capacity in February 2016.
