углегорск год после боев

Donetsk, Apr 20 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic Public Commission for assessing the damage to the DPR economy caused by Ukraine, currently estimates the losses, counted over 18 months of work, at over 1.3 billion rubles with calculations ongoing, said Yelena Shishkina, a DPR parliamentarian and coordinator of the Free Donbass programme which contributes to the Commission’s efforts.

“The Commission, on the evidence of gathered data, has obtained the following preliminary results, which only estimate a part of the damage sustained since 2014,” Shishkina said at a press briefing at the Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday. “Industry and agriculture losses made up 295.8 billion rubles, welfare sector losses 421.7 billion rubles, and the expenses to rebuild ruined houses amounted to 603.4 billion rubles. First stage losses reached 1.321 trillion rubles.”

Earlier reports said that Donetsk was designing a method to calculate the environmental damage caused by Kiev aggression.

TheCommission for estimating the economic damage caused by Ukraine was set up in late 2019. It includes parliamentarians, activists and scientists. The Commission reviews residents’ appeals for compensation of damage caused to them and designs estimation mechanisms.  The DPR also helps Ukrainian army aggression victims to draw damages claims against Ukraine for sending them to the European Court of Human Rights.*jk
