Donetsk, Nov 28 – DAN. DPR ombudswoman Darya Morozova said she was confident that the prisoner exchange with Ukraine would take place by the end of this year.
“I’m 99.9 percent sure that prisoners will be exchanged by the New Year,” Morozova told Donetsk News Agency. “The delay has occurred only because of Ukraine. According to Kiev’s official representative, several weeks are enough to clear our guys of charges.”
Prisoner exchange was discussed in a recent telephone conversation between DPR head Alexander Zakharchenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The parties considered the prisoner exchange initiative put forward by Ukrainian Choice – People’s Right movement leader Viktor Medvedchuk. Zakharchenko who supported Putin’s position, later said that the Donetsk People’s Republic was fully ready for the prisoner swap. *jk
