Donetsk, Jun 7 – DAN. UN representatives and the Donetsk People’s Republic ombudswoman’s office personnel visited a detention centre for Ukrainian prisoners in Donetsk, the ombudswoman’s office press service reported on Thursday.

“During the visit on June 6, the UN representatives saw the prison conditions of persons put in custody as well as those serving their sentences in the Donetsk remand prison,” the report said.

The visitors were the UN Special Rapporteur on torture, Nils Melzer, members of a UN working group and representatives of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Geneva Office.
