Donetsk, Sep 20 – DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic expects the Minsk Agreements guarantors France and Germany to take measures against Ukraine for sabotaging the peace accords, the DPR envoy to the Minsk talks, Foreign Minister Natalia Nikonorova said on Friday.

Earlier, the Ukrainian delegation at the Minsk talks refused to sign the text of the Steinmeier formula coordinated by political advisors to the “Normandy Four” leaders.

“We hope that Kiev will be held responsible for the undisguised unwillingness to implement the document approved by the UN Security Council and the direct instructions by “Normandy Four” representatives,” Nikonorova said.

The discussion of the Steinmeier formula by advisors to the “Normandy Four” leaders was a forced move as Kiev refused to coordinate the document in Minsk. At the same time, the DPR foreign minister said that the coordination of the formula was a preliminary move towards settlement on the political track.

“There is a huge amount of work ahead, such as correcting the law on special status of Donbass, its cementing in the Constitution, and carrying out the amnesty for Donbass events participants. However, if Ukraine is unable to complete even the initial stage, how is the leadership of that country going to fully implement the Package of Measures?” she said.

Earlier on  Friday, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadim Pristaiko said in an interview to the newspaper Yevropeiskaya Pravda that the Contact Group had to introduce some changes to the Steinmeier formula.*jk
