Donetsk, Aug 3 - DAN. No major headway was made at the Contact Group’s meeting in Minsk on 2 August, DPR’s top negotiator at Minsk talks Denis Pushilin told reporters on Thursday.

“There were no changes for better or worse; we’re are still worried over security and prisoner exchange issues,” Pushilin said. Of course the situation with political issues continues to cause our concern as progress at other subgroups’ talks depends on political issues,” he said.

Ukraine still lacks a clear position. “We have no idea what we should do with it. To change the situation, we need Normandy Four and U.S. assistance,” Pushilin said.

On Wednesday, the Belarus capital hosted the Contact Group’s peace talks at the subgroups on political, economic and security issues.

Reports said the Kiev representatives in the political subgroup ignored the discussion of the Donbass special status law, while in the economic subgroup they refused to discuss easier pension payment terms for the region’s residents.

According to Pushilin’s spokeswoman Viktoria Talakina, the participants were able to discuss water supply and environmental issues. *jk
